HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVA!

Snaps from my gorgeous older sister's 21st birthday :) Eva, you are possibly the best older sister anyone could ever ask for. You're the only one to ever manage to calm me down before a politics essay and I could never have got through history class without your notes! My love of the 4 f's have all been inherited from you, that being: film, fashion, photography and french (well, photography isn't f.. but it sounds like one). You're my lifes inspiration, the one who forces me to think about the world instead of blindly accepting it. So hope you had a fantastic day, i love you :)

Tonight, I attended the very exclusive Wesley Quarter opening! The quarter is situated on the corner of William, Hay and Murray street in the heart of the Perth CBD. It was opened by our very own town mayor Lisa Scaffidi, and showcased a variety of photographs by New York photographer Douglas Kirkland (who has photographed the classics like Audrey Hepburn, as well as modern icons Nicole Kidman and Jessica Alba.) The Quarter offers a variety of boutique's as well as high-end labels which include Burberry, Giorgio Armarni and Paul & Joe (with rumours circulating about Chanel or Prada opening up!) The food was delicious, and i recieved the most gorgeous Alannah Hill headbands in the gift bags!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIA

Heres some snaps from my good friend Kia's 18th Birthday party with the theme teddy bear picnic. It wasn't anything too massive, as we're all smack bang in the middle of our final exams at the moment, but it was very sweet nonetheless!

An Education

Nick Hornby has produced another extraordinary novel turned screenplay in this post-war, pre-beatles coming-of-age story. I fell in love with the classic 60's style and the political commentary on the place of women in the early 6o's. It's a film for the romantic, much like myself, a film that portrays a seemingly inappropriate relationship as natural. One of the best of 2009.

Im usually not one to buy much thrifted clothes (not that i'm a snob or anything, more so that i think the whole vintage style doesn't really suit me very much) however i kinda fell in love with this blazer that i got for 8$! maybe its the color, or the simple military style detailing with silver buttons. anyways, i had the the tee media review awards tonight in which my group won the fiction-narrative category for the film that i have blogged about in previous entries! wooot we were pretty ecstatic!

i've switched from picasa to flickr as my photohosting website, so hopefully images will be larger, and better quality. bad news, im only allowed to upload 100mb per month... so if i exceed that limit i'll have to resort back to picasa.
