Racer Five

A couple of months ago now I went to the States for some adventuring. These two pictures are from my first night in Boston where I enjoyed a lovely cold beer and pizza in a super trendy bar in the South End. A little excerpt from my diary writes "I am seated at a really lovely restaurant probably more suited to couples and friends. Its a little lonely and the wait staff are looking at me funny - oh well, the joys of travelling alone!" FYI I went to the States because my boyfriend was doing a summer course at NYU, while he was studying I decided to do a little bit of travelling before I met up with him in NYC. Twenty First Gifts

I received the loveliest of gifts for my twenty first. My best friend Ella gave me three beautiful pearls that her mother is going to set in gold for me. My boyfriends family gave me lovely earings and a guest book in where everyone wrote lovely messages from the evening. His little sister gave me a super cool teacup. I also received some candles, nail polish, jewelry, a bottle of Dom Perignon (which will be saved for a very special occasion), some cool books which will be well read and heaps of other gifts (there seriously are too many to mention)! I feel so blessed to have such lovely people in my life that I hope I will stay good friends with in many years to come.

The best present yet was the Polaroid camera! I have wanted one for a very long time, but could never justify buying another camera, but alas it really is the coolest thing ever and I have been using it nonstop since last week! I can't wait to take my new baby to the big apple and snap away! Also, the film that I put into it seems to have this super cool border. If any of you guys who bought this are reading, you guys are seriously awesome.

New Years 2013

Man, these really are old. For New Years my boyfriend and I drove up spontaneously to Toodyay (about an hour out of Perth) to celebrate at a friends farm. Good times were enjoyed by all, and the night became very nostalgic when we all shared lovely stories of our friendships. On the down side, the night was ridiculously and unbearably hot and was littered with mosquitos, luckily those are the things that are never remembered. The drive home at 5am the next morning was one of the loveliest memories I have, despite the hungover head and extreme tiredness. There was something very serene about the Australian countryside at the crack of dawn in a New Year, I wish I took some photographs... but alas.

I am busy preparing for my trip to America and not busy at all studying for my exams. I also had my twenty-first birthday on the weekend, it was pretty swell and Quentin Tarantino themed. Here's the polaroids...its hard to tell from these snaps but I was Shoshanna from Inglorious Basterds!

Singapore and Six Month Reflections

Hello All. Yes I know I said I'd update more. I know I said I'll take more photos. I know I made a whole list of new years goals that haven't been kept. I know that I said I would study more, and try harder, and be a nicer person. But that's okay, I'm going to pick myself up and try again. That's the way it's supposed to go, right? Well, that's what I'm going to do.

So, in short, this semester has been a bit of a write off. My grades have fallen, my attention to detail has slipped and my efforts to be kind to myself and others hasn't improved. The only reason why I feel like I'm writing now is because I'm trapped in the library with a paper due tomorrow that is worth half my grade. I've been so preoccupied with what I'm going to do next year that I have completely neglected the current. The options are as follows: Postgraduate Law, a Masters in Management, Communication Honours, Masters in Film Production, full time work or to move away for a year. Next year is essentially a year of specialisation in a field that I'm still not aware of.

These photos were taken back when I was in Singapore, a whole three months ago now. The trip reinvigorated me to follow my passion of Film Production, however now I'm not so sure. Maybe it's going back to the day to day world of classes thats crippled what I think I am capable of. In four weeks I will be off to NYC for a month, with week trips to Boston and Washington DC. Hopefully time alone to reflect, take more pictures and read will help me make my decision. But for now, I have to force myself to think about the next twenty-four hours which will be loaded with coffee and essay writing.

My boyfriend's family fostered little kittens for a couple of weeks in November. They were the cutest and most adorable things I've ever seen!

Crafternoon

Very belated photos from a Chirstmas Crafternoon at my favourite person, Jen's house (pictured), back in December.

I've spent the past three weeks studying in Singapore and I'm finally ready to go home. Well actually, a part of me has been ready for a while. I'm here for an intensive Film & Television Production course for my Communications degree back home. The department here is fantastic, with proper HD cameras and a full professional quality television studio. It has been a fantastic experience, but the days have been long and full and we really have been thrown in the deep end. Well, that would be putting it generously- I would describe it more like, being thrown in the deep end where there are sharks, the water is murky and the depth is unknown. On the other hand, however, my peers here have been fantastic company and despite living in crappy on-campus apartments we have all made wonderful memories. Oh, and the weekends were pretty shopping filled to- those are posts to come.
